Each year, the Summer/Winter school programme includes a Work-In-Progress (WIP) Seminar. For this year’s WIP, we welcome submissions from graduate students and junior scholars working on issues relating to the environment and human rights to give a ten minute presentation of their work in the WIP. This is both an opportunity to get feedback from peers and established scholars, and to meet and engage with scholars working across the globe. Commentator: Alfred Brownell

We are extremely excited to announce that Alfred Brownell will be the commentator in our Work-in-Progress Seminar this year! Alfred Bownell is the Tom & Andi Bernstein Visiting Human Rights Fellow at Yale Law School and an Associate Research Professor at Northeastern University School of Law. He is a human rights defender, an internationally recognized environmental rights activist and lawyer from Liberia. He co-founded and heads the public interest law environmental rights organization, Green Advocates International.

Last year, in 2021, our WIP commentator was UN Special Rappoteur for the Environment, Professor David Boyd. You can read about last year’s WIP and watch a video of the presentations here.
